A Picture is Worth 1,006 Words

We all know the saying "A picture is worth a thousand words." I can surely think of 1000 words for this picture... family, love, relationship, marriage, healthy, blessed, all the beautiful emotions a family brings. These portraits mean the world to me. Although I don't love being in front of the camera, I will do whatever it takes to not let a year go by without rounding up the troops to grab another.

Are you wondering what the other six words are yet? Well let me tell you! "Do we have to do this?" Yep, this beautiful picture has 'I don't want to be here' written all over it. Except ,lucky for me, they covered it well. Alex just got home from gymnastics and was tired, Alyssa just wanted to go home and eat, and Jeff was in the middle of a work project with a looming deadline. I tried to schedule these pictures for weeks. In fact, they were supposed to have been taken the day before this too but I heard so many excuses on why it was bad timing that I threw my hands up and said "Fine, we'll do it tomorrow." Tomorrow came and it wasn't much different other than everyone realized momma was about to have a breakdown and they just needed to suck it up.

So the first 1000 words are for you and the rest of them are for me. Photos don't only have to hold beautiful (perfect) memories, they can also hold real life, not-so-perfect memories and that is fine with me. After all, life is more than you see in pictures!

So if you've been trying to get your family, or just the kids, together for a photo and it doesn't seem like the perfect time, just do it anyway. You won't regret it and those little behind the scene memories will end up making you laugh.
